Netravathi Trek

Overview

The Netravathi Trek is a breathtaking journey through the pristine beauty of the Chikmagaluru district, offering an ideal blend of adventure, nature, and spirituality. Rising to an altitude of 4500+ ft, this 12 km trail is classified as easy to moderate, making it perfect for both first-time trekkers and seasoned adventurers.

The trek begins with an off-road jeep ride to the base point, followed by a scenic hike through dense forests, rolling meadows, and the enchanting Bandekallu waterfalls. At the summit, trekkers are rewarded with panoramic views of the lush Western Ghats, offering a peaceful escape from the city’s chaos. Evenings at the homestay include relaxation, local hospitality, and a campfire under the starlit sky (weather permitting).

On the return day, the journey continues with visits to the Samse tea estate, the historic Kalasa temple, and either Hornadu or Belur temple, adding cultural depth to this adventure. With comfortable homestay accommodations, wholesome vegetarian meals, and expert guides ensuring safety, the Netravathi Trek is a rejuvenating blend of nature, culture, and exploration.

Tour Plan

  • Reach homestay early morning, freshen up & have breakfast.
  • Assemble for Trek briefing & safety instruction session - Very Important
  • Off road Jeep ride to trek start point ( that is Forest department) for approx 30 Mins
  • Trek through Bandekallu waterfalls.
  • Reach the peak, spend some peaceful time & have lunch.
  • Trek back to the base point in the evening
  • Jeep drive back to homestay. Refresh & relax
  • Campfire (if weather permits). Dinner & stay for the night
  • Wake up early, Freshen up, have breakfast & checkout from the Stay
  • Visit Samse tea estate
  • Kalasa temple darshana
  • Self sponsored lunch
  • We will visit either Hornadu temple or Belur temple.
  • Journey towards Bangalore around 3 PM. Reach Bengaluru around 11 PM
